in mathematics.
Position Overview:
As a Mathematics Teacher for KS3 & KS4 at SMART Global Academy, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and interactive online math lessons. You will teach a wide range of topics, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics, ensuring lessons are aligned with the national curriculum. Your role will involve using digital tools to create dynamic learning experiences and helping students develop both confidence and competence in mathematics.
This role requires someone who is passionate about math, highly organized, and skilled at using online platforms for teaching. You will also assess student progress regularly, provide constructive feedback, and offer support to ensure every student reaches their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching and Lesson Delivery:
• Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging online lessons for KS3 and KS4 students, covering a range of math topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and statistics.
• Adapt teaching methods to suit the virtual learning environment, utilizing digital tools and interactive resources to enhance student engagement.
• Ensure lessons meet the requirements of the national curriculum and cater to a variety of learning abilities. - Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
• Design and implement regular assessments to evaluate students’ understanding of mathematical concepts.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to help students improve their mathematical skills.
• Track student progress, identifying areas where additional support or intervention may be required. - Curriculum Development:
• Work closely with the Mathematics Curriculum Leader and other teachers to develop and refine the KS3 and KS4 mathematics curriculum.
• Stay informed of curriculum changes and trends in math education to ensure teaching materials remain relevant and challenging - Student Support:
• Offer individualized support to students who may need extra help with particular topics or concepts.
• Organize virtual study groups or tutorials as needed to ensure all students have access to the resources and guidance they need to succeed - Parental Engagement and Communication:
• Maintain regular communication with parents, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns or questions.
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences to discuss student performance and areas for growth. - Professional Development:
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated with the latest trends in online education and mathematics instruction.
• Share best practices with colleagues and contribute to the overall academic environment at SMART Global Academy.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a strong background in Mathematics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience teaching Mathematics at KS3 and KS4 level, with a solid understanding of the national curriculum.
- Experience teaching in an online environment is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in using digital platforms for education.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage time and resources effectively in a virtual setting.
- A passion for mathematics and helping students develop a love for the subject.
